Join Our Volunteer Team – Help Us Reduce Waste and Make a Difference!

Wachusett Earthday Inc is busier than ever, and we need your help! If you’re passionate about reducing waste, promoting recycling (even the hard-to-recycle stuff!), and encouraging reuse in our community, we’d love to have you on board.

Nearly all of our work is powered by volunteers—and we’re always looking for more helping hands and fresh ideas. Whether you have time to volunteer regularly or just now and then, there’s a place for you here.

We are currently in need of volunteers with skills to assist in projects like these:

• During Our Public/Open Hours (2.5–3.5 hour shifts):

  • Check-In: Greet visitors, verify residency, assess drop-off fees, and handle payments.

  • Center Circle Annex Oversight: Help manage drop-offs of items like sports gear, camping equipment, home medical items, luggage, and baby gear.

  • Center Circle Styrofoam Recycling: Assist with sorting and prepping Styrofoam for recycling (Thursdays & Saturdays, plus during volunteer work hours).

  • Center Circle Universal Waste Shed: Help organize bulbs and batteries etc for proper recycling.

  • North 40 Area: Assist with unloading construction debris and other large drop-offs.

  During Work/Non-Public Hours (2–3 hour shifts):

  • Help load furniture for the Furniture Bank or move furniture onsite.

  • Move boxes into or out of the ReUse Resource building.

  Periodic Projects:

  • Help with ongoing projects, site cleanups, and reorganization efforts.

  Remote Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Assist with website updates and social media.

  • Help with data entry and generating reports.

  • Possibly assist in finding better technology to manage data
